Cleric-based prestige classes

Prestige classes available only to clerics generally represent a particular type of task which a Church needs to take on, and which requires the cleric to learn new and unfamiliar magical powers. Two such classes are described here.

The Inquisitor

Every church with a strict faith needs its inquisitors, and these people are invariably selected from the best of their faith. The Inquisitor learns a new Domain of Spells - Inquisition - covering the discovery of information and the rejection of lies. In addition to this, as the Inquisitor gains in power he or she develops a strong innate resistance to illusions, lies and deception. The inquisitor also becomes immune to all forms of compulsion or possession which would interfere in his god's mission.

The Stone seeker

Stone seekers are priests of churches whose members need to wander the long, difficult tunnels of the Underdark. Although usually only Dwarves and Gnomes take this path, many other races have churches whose members occasionally find it necessary to unlock the secret powers of stone. The stone seeker learns the domain of Earth Magic, and as he or she gains in power, the Stone Seeker learns spells for travelling through and interacting with the never ending tunnels and crushing stone depths of the Underdark.
