- The room is a rough oval shape, with a covered balcony on one end which looks out over the river. On the wall facing the entrance is Sindolfan’s throne, sitting under a cunningly placed skylight which directs sunlight onto her throne in a diffuse pool all day long (using mirrors directed from outside). Two censers of incense burn near the throne, their thin smoke clouds drifting lazily through the diffuse sunlight. On one side of the throne stands a guard armed with a spear, and at the base of the small dais on which the throne sits there is a large rug of elvish design, next to a small desk with some papers on it. The entry way is flanked by two slender obsidian statues depicting a dragon soaring upward; and the other side of the room (opposite the balcony) is simply appointed with a polished wooden cabinet before which sit two small benches. The cabinet is being used to display various tributary gifts, including a brutal-looking axe, an empty helmet, and several vials of what look like potions.

It is a good thing that Harpies cannot read, is it not? Please forgive me if they made your life harder than expected, but I had to find a subtle way to get this message to you, and what better way than in the grip of a creature of such unsubtle manners? I told these vile beasts to expect you coming this way, and also that you stole their last egg-brood, which I sincerely hope is not true, being fond as I am of all small creatures, even those who grow to be wicked, vengeful hags. If you are reading this, the hags in question followed my advice and found you on the way to the East, where I am told you have been having some trouble. When you are done dispensing with our mutual enemies, you may find it in your best interests to head South along the mountain ranges, and then West when you cast your shadow between the twin peaks of Argothrig (the blessed one, called Ialende in your elven compatriots’ language). Were you to then fly West a short distance, you would surely see a royal tent; and therein would probably wait a seasoned campaigner of some importance, who would meet you and parley. All is honest in intent and the author of this note can be trusted, even if the means of delivery is a little ragged and unorthodox.
